Welcome to Marl & Mud! I’m Brit, the hands and heart behind these pieces. My journey to creating clay earrings started in the kitchen—as a trained pastry chef, I spent years perfecting the art of working with my hands. But after a long stretch in the restaurant industry, I felt the call to do something new. My partner and I packed up, hit the road, and spent time exploring the beauty of our country’s national parks, reconnecting with nature and family along the way.

Clay earrings came into my life unexpectedly at a camp where I serve as a counselor each year, creating gifts for my campers. What started as a small gesture quickly became a full-fledged passion, and Marl & Mud was born. Working with polymer and terracotta clay allows me to blend my love for natural textures, earthy vibes, and the thrill of creative experimentation. Every piece I make is a little tribute to the rugged beauty of the wild and the refined joy of a well-crafted design.

The name Marl & Mud captures this blend perfectly—earthy, adventurous, yet polished with a bold spirit. My designs are for those who find beauty in nature, who aren’t afraid to add a little edge to their style, and who, like me, might have a touch of the unexpected in them. Whether it’s a refined dangle in marble white and gold or a skull-head earring with a wild little plant, each piece brings a part of my journey to life.
